The Shower Deep-Cleaning Guide

One of the first things that our clients tell us when we clean their home for the first time is how clean and shiny their shower looks! It’s weird to think that the place where you get clean can get so grimy. Well, for the first time, we are sharing some of our secret tricks to help you achieve a super clean shower and tub!

How to Clean: Glass Shower Doors

Fill a spray bottle with white vinegar and grease-fighting dish soap. Spray the shower door liberally and let it sit for half an hour. Then, scrub away the grime with a cloth.

We love natural cleaning methods. Our favorite all naturaSchedule your calll method involves cutting a lemon in half, covering the cut side in baking soda, then rubbing it on the glass door. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if your bathroom was clean and smelled like fresh lemons?

How to Clean: Signs of Mold

Mold is particularly gross, and it can be harmful. If you see black mold, it might be a good idea to talk to a mold removal contractor. Otherwise, bleach diluted in water works for these stains, but you’ll want to do your cleaning with the window open and a mask on to protect yourself (and your respiratory system) from fumes.

How to Clean: Hard Water Stains

Hard water stains can be tackled using the same classic cleaning ingredients we mentioned above: vinegar, water, and baking soda. Mix these into a thick paste, let it sit for a few minutes, and then go at stains and dirt with a toothbrush or scrubber.

How to Clean: Shower Grout

Oxygen bleach like OxiClean™ for tough shower grout stains, but you can always rely on your trusty vinegar and water cleaner for less prominent grime. This is another cleaning task for which old toothbrushes come in handy!

How to Clean: The Shower Head

Fill a plastic bag with white vinegar and tie it around the shower head with string. (Tape and rubber bands work, too.) Let the shower head soak in the vinegar for a few hours, remove the bag, run hot water through the shower head, and finish it off by scrubbing it with an old toothbrush.

How to Clean: Soap Scum

For daily cleaning, you can use the same solution from the above “How to Clean: Glass Shower Doors” section. For persistent stains, add salt to the mix for extra abrasiveness.
